About the Role
As a CBRE Account Director based in Milan, you will lead, manage, and develop an important and complex client portfolio, ensuring financial and operational commitments are met and exceeded.
What You’ll Do
- Ensure that opportunities for the strategic development of contracts are exploited, increasing turnover and profitability, adding services and projects, and re‑winning contracts on re‑tender.
- Ensure business policies and processes are effectively communicated and implemented within contracts.
- Ensure contracts provide healthy and safe working conditions and that CBRE’s health and safety policy is implemented across all activities, with regular reviews.
- Ensure optimum staffing structures across contracts, balancing cost reduction with service excellence, supporting peaks and troughs, disaster recovery, and expertise sharing.
- Ensure contracts are staffed by competent teams, taking direct responsibility for appointing contract managers, guaranteeing competence, and establishing succession plans.
- Collaborate with other operational managers to develop the business, promote teamwork, and support colleagues.
- Develop financial plans for revenue, profit, WIP reduction, cost reduction, and contract growth, and ensure these objectives are met and exceeded.
- Maintain a customer focus across all operational activities and foster effective relationships with key client contacts.
- Promote and uphold CBRE’s core values.
- Provide leadership, guidance, coaching, and direct support to deliver best‑practice selection, training, assessment, and recognition/reward.
- Support business communication through advice, review, leadership, and direct contributions to meetings, briefings, forums, correspondence, and reports.
- Assist the sales process through solution development, participation in presentations and consultations, hosting visits, and supporting mobilisation of new contracts.
- Create a learning environment with training and development planning, ensuring basic training needs are met and staff reach their full potential.
What You’ll Need
- Minimum seven years of related experience and/or training.
- Proven track record in the facilities management industry.
- Managerial experience as Contract/Account Manager or above in technical or hard services.
- Experience in developing and reviewing teams, conducting appraisals, and applying effective people‑management practices.
- Excellent motivational and influencing skills, with high personal integrity.
- Organised, able to prioritise and deliver under high‑pressure, business‑critical environments.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical delivery for client satisfaction.
- Excellent understanding of health & safety legislation.
- Ability to gain trust and support from top‑level management and key client decision‑makers.
- Experienced client‑relationship manager.
- Strong financial skills.
- Ability to manage conflict and crisis situations effectively.
- Good knowledge of English.
