The Role

As a Key Account Manager for Italy, you are the strategic bridge between Yokogawa's world-class automation and digital portfolio and the country's most significant industrial players. This is a consultative, high-autonomy role suited to someone who thinks in business outcomes, not just product specs. You will own the full account lifecycle - from prospecting and pipeline development to closing and long-term relationship management - working across DCS, PLC, and digital solution offerings.

You will be based in the Milan area, covering major accounts across Italy. Expect a dynamic mix of executive stakeholder engagement, technical collaboration with internal specialists, and hands‑on new business development.

What You Will Do

  • Business Development: Identify, approach, and develop new high‑potential customers in the Italian process automation market.
  • Account Management: Build and execute comprehensive account strategies for existing key accounts - acting as the primary point of contact for all matters.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage decision‑makers and influencers at multiple levels, including C‑suite, translating technical capabilities into tangible business value and ROI.
  • Cross‑functional Collaboration: Collaborate cross‑functionally with technical, delivery, finance, and legal teams to design and position winning solutions.
  • Market Presence: Represent Yokogawa at industry events, trade shows, and sector forums to build visibility and generate pipeline.
  • Reporting & CRM: Maintain accurate opportunity tracking and account data in the CRM system.

What You Bring

  • 6+ years of B2B sales or account management experience in industrial automation, process control, or a closely related field (DCS, PLC, SCADA, digital solutions)
  • A strong commercial track record - you have owned a pipeline, managed complex sales cycles, and consistently delivered results
  • Fluency in Italian and English; the ability to communicate persuasively from plant floor to boardroom
  • Deep understanding of Italian industrial sectors such as oil & gas, chemicals, energy, pharma, or food & beverage
  • Consultative selling mindset - you listen, you diagnose, and you build solutions around real customer challenges
  • High personal drive, structured thinking, and the ability to operate autonomously while collaborating effectively across a matrixed organisation
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, automation, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
