Overview

The Accounting Manager supervises the accounting department, prepares reports for company leaders, and develops standards and processes for proper financial management. This role oversees organizational systems for gathering data, analyzes information, confirms the accuracy of staff reports, and provides recommendations for improving accounting methods. The Accounting Manager understands all types of financial operations within a company and how they work together, including debts, assets, cash forecasting, payroll, capital assets, and revenue analysis. The Accounting Manager also guides the implementation of new financial initiatives and generates reports to share progress with teams. Additionally, this role contributes suggestions on a company’s overall strategies to meet goals related to financial transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the company’s financial accounts, payroll, budget, cash receipts and financial assets.
  • Handle the company’s transactions and debts and do cash flow forecasting.
  • Create year-end financial statements and perform the company’s financial audits.
  • Follow proper accounting procedures to reach financial objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze financial accounting data.
  • Create financial reports based on data analysis.

Qualifications

  • Work experience as an Accounting Manager, preferably 3 or more years.
  • Previous experience in an auditing firm will be considered a plus.
  • In-depth understanding of Italian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (ITA GAAP).
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of IAS/IFRS, VAT and Tax regulation.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, experience with Navision and/or Tagetik is an advantage.
  • Previous experience with SAP will be considered a plus.
  • Degree level of education.
  • Experience leading teams and developing their performance.

  • Very good organizational skills, ability to prioritize and follow-up.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to solve complex problems.
  • Great interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior data management and data analysis skills.
  • Fluent English and Italian. Any additional language is an advantage.
  • Legal right to work in Italy.
