** We are looking for an Actuarial Specialist to join our Actuarial Team. Application must be submitted in English **



We are looking for an Actuarial Specialist to join and support the Actuarial team in developing its internal tools used for the calculation of the Life and Non-Life reserves. The incumbent will be involved in the daily activities performed by the Actuarial department related to the delivery of the Solvency II Technical Provisions and IFRS17 Cash Flows reporting, with specific focus to direct business.


The key missions that the Actuarial Specialist will cover, under the supervision of the Head of Actuarial, are the following (non-exhaustive list):

  • Be the key owner for the activities related to the direct business reserving set up, including the delivery of the Solvency II Technical Provision reporting and all related activities, directly working with Redion Employee Benefits Actuarial Function and General Head Office teams
  • Be the key owner for the preparation of the IFRS17 Best Estimate cash flows for actual closings and the subsequent quantitative analysis on impacts for the direct business perimeter, as well as actively support Planning & Control team in forecast and plan activities to support direct business steering
  • Participate in the certification of statutory provisions and analysis for the closing of the quarterly and yearly accounts as well as monitor and review the overall reserve adequacy making recommendations to Senior Management
  • Provide support to internal departments for the monitoring and review of the profitability performance of Redion Employee Benefits, working directly with the underwriting team to support underwriting activities and product approval process for direct business steering
  • Perform regular experience analyses (i.e. actual vs expected, back-testing ) for the monitoring and update of reserving assumptions
  • Implement data quality processes, lead industrialization of actuarial processes and automation of calculations, reporting and controls to optimize the daily activities

What we are looking for a new teammate who has/is

  • strong initiative to drive activities forward and take responsibility of assigned processes in the Redion Employee Benefits Actuarial plan of activities
  • dynamic, proactive and not afraid to take ownership
  • ability to manage end-to-end the quarterly/yearly Actuarial closing activities of Redion Employee Benefits
  • ability to work in an environment with multiple stakeholders and information flows
  • comfortable to foster a community of cross-functional working, across Risk, Finance, Technical and Distribution teams
  • fluent in English, any additional language is considered an asset


Ideal background would be

  • 3-5 years of experience in Actuarial departments of consultancy firms or other insurance companies, with some exposure already gained on the Group (desirable)
  • degree in Actuarial Sciences (preferred) or Quantitative field (Mathematics, Economics and Finance or similar). Being a Qualified Actuary would be a plus but is not mandatory
  • experience in Life Direct business (employee benefits covers is preferred); Life & Health reserving techniques (desirable)
  • experience with Actuarial tools (Prophet, ...) and programming languages like R (desirable)
