Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced configuration engineer proficient in managing configuration activities for safety- and mission-critical airborne systems. The role involves mentoring team members, managing team activities, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.

Responsibilities and duties

  1. Define and maintain Configuration Management policies in line with standards and company needs.
  2. Supervise HW/SW configuration management activities related to civitanavi-designed avionic equipment, ensuring standards compliance.
  3. Oversee the lifecycle data items during the design phase for compliance with standards and procedures.
  4. Manage Change Control Board activities during design and production phases.
  5. Mentor configuration engineers to support their professional growth and goal achievement.
  6. Manage daily team activities and prioritize tasks effectively.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Master’s degree in computer science, electronic engineering, aerospace engineering, management engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in configuration management within the aerospace industry, based on SAE_EIA-649 standards.
  • Experience in coaching and managing teams of 1-5 members.
  • Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management tools.
  • Strong professional ethics and ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary and international teams.
  • Ability to work with artifacts (documents, code) generated by team members.
  • Organized and systematic in maintaining documentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Italian and English, both written and spoken.
  • Experience with avionic software certification.
  • Familiarity with Siemens Teamcenter PLM.
  • Knowledge of SAP ERP.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle for avionics (RTCA DO-178C).
  • Knowledge of complex hardware development standards (RTCA DO-254, EASA AMC20-152A).
