AGV Traffic Manager Engineer / Software Developer
We are looking for an engineer/software developer responsible for the design and development of an AGV Traffic Manager (TM) for industrial logistics environments. The role focuses on centralized coordination of AGV fleets, dynamic routing, traffic optimization, collision prevention, and mission orchestration across complex road networks composed of bidirectional and single-lane paths.
The candidate will develop software modules for:
- Dynamic path planning and routing
- Reservation and lock management of road segments
- Single-lane traffic coordination
- Deadlock detection and recovery
- Mission dispatching and prioritization
- Zone access and bay management
- Integration with WMS/MES/ERP and PLC systems
- Real-time monitoring, diagnostics, and event handling
The role involves close interaction with automation systems, industrial communication protocols, and real‑time operational constraints to ensure safe and efficient AGV fleet operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement AGV fleet traffic management logic
- Develop graph-based routing and dynamic path planning algorithms
- Implement resource reservation and lock mechanisms for traffic control
- Manage AGV coordination in single-lane and critical shared areas
- Develop deadlock prevention and recovery strategies
- Integrate with PLCs, WMS/MES/ERP systems, and HMI platforms
- Implement real-time communication using REST API, MQTT, OPC UA, or similar protocols
- Monitor AGV states, mission execution, alarms, and KPIs
- Support testing, commissioning, debugging, and system optimization
- Collaborate with automation, robotics, and software engineering teams
Relevant Prior Experience in
- AGV/AMR fleet management systems
- Industrial automation and logistics systems
- Real-time traffic coordination systems
- Robotics orchestration software
- Warehouse automation systems
- Distributed systems and resource management
- Mission scheduling and optimization algorithms
- Industrial communication protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, REST)
- PLC integration and industrial safety logic
- Multi-agent systems and synchronization
Technical Skills - Strong knowledge of
- Graph algorithms (Dijkstra, A*)
- State machines and event-driven architectures
- Real-time system design
- Concurrency and synchronization logic
- Deadlock detection and recovery mechanisms
- Database and backend system development
- Preferred technologies:
- C# / .NET
- Python
- SQL / PostgreSQL
- MQTT / OPC UA
- REST APIs
- Docker / Linux environments

- AGV commissioning and industrial startup activities
