AI & Automation Engineer(Spandex Italy)

We are looking for a hands-on AI & Automation Engineer to design, build, and deploy practical AI solutions that directly support business operations. This role is delivery-focused, working at pace to turn real business needs into working AI capabilities embedded in day‑to‑day workflows.
The first major initiative will be the development of a sales enablement AI agent , providing real-time product guidance, compliance support, and alternative product recommendations to internal sales teams. You will work closely with IT, data, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions are robust, secure, and aligned with governance and architectural standards.
What You Will Do
- Design and build AI agents that support core business processes, starting with sales enablement.
- Develop GenAI-powered solutions that deliver accurate, real-time product, compliance, and recommendation outputs.
- Integrate AI solutions with internal systems, structured data sources, documentation repositories, and external APIs.
- Deploy AI solutions into live environments, ensuring usability, scalability, and strong user adoption.
- Continuously improve AI solutions based on user feedback, usage patterns, and business outcomes.
- Build and maintain APIs, workflows, and backend services supporting AI functionality.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Ensure adherence to internal AI governance, security policies, and data protection standards.
- Identify and deliver additional AI use cases as part of a scalable AI capability roadmap.
What You Bring
Technical Skills
- Experience building AI solutions using Microsoft technologies such as Copilot Studio and Power Platform (Power Automate, Dataverse).
- Strong understanding of API integrations and connectors for internal and external data sources.
- Understanding of Generative AI / LLM concepts and implementation approaches.
- Experience integrating AI into business workflows and operational processes.
- Familiarity with Azure or Microsoft cloud environments.
- Python or similar programming language is a plus for advanced integrations or backend services.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- 2–5 years’ experience in AI, automation, or software engineering roles.
- Proven experience delivering solutions into production environments.
- Experience with Microsoft ecosystem tools (Power Platform, Microsoft 365, Azure).
- Hands-on experience with Copilot Studio or equivalent AI agent/automation platforms.
- Strong understanding of API integrations and connectors.
- Practical experience applying AI or automation to business processes.
- Experience working collaboratively across IT and business teams.
Desirable
- Exposure to Agentic AI or workflow-based AI systems.
- Experience with structured and unstructured data sources.
- Familiarity with data platforms or integration layers.
- Understanding of AI governance, compliance, and responsible AI practices.
- Experience with Python or similar languages.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications (Power Platform, Azure AI Engineer, Azure Developer, Azure Solutions Architect, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, etc.).
