AI & data science consultant intern

ARAD is a strategic consulting company operating in the field of digital transformation .

We help both large international companies and Italian start-ups to create or improve their business through the opportunities offered by digital, supporting them in defining the most appropriate strategy for their operating scenario and following them in its implementation. The sectors in which we operate primarily are retail, grocery, food & beverage and fashion.

We are looking for inspired talents, digital enthusiasts who want to grow professionally in a fast and stimulating environment, taking advantage of the opportunity to be directly involved right away on various and complex projects , ranging from strategic to organizational consultancy, from optimization of e-commerce performance to product management, from the set up of digital channels to business development.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As an intern, you will support our consultants in:

• Analyzing and interpreting structured and unstructured data from various digital sources.
• Translating analytical outputs into clear insights and strategic recommendations.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams on digital business initiatives (e.g., e-commerce, CRM, customer journeys).
• Learning directly from former managers with extensive experience in digital business (a key ARAD differentiator).
• Supporting ARAD’s internal training initiatives and competence evolution programs, contributing to the development of knowledge assets and AI-based tools for consulting.
• Contributing to internal R&D initiatives, experimenting with AI-based tools and machine learning solutions to support consulting activities.
• Developing prototypes and internal accelerators leveraging data, generative AI, and predictive modeling, with direct application to strategic consulting projects for top European companies.
• Developing dashboards and visual tools to effectively communicate findings.

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE

• Recently graduated or currently completing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM discipline (Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Physics or related fields).
• Basic proficiency in Python and main data libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib).
• Understanding of machine learning fundamentals, data visualization, and basic concepts of generative AI.
• Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
• Knowledge of SQL or relational databases.
• Interest in digital technologies and digital transformation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good command of English (B2 level or higher).
• Curiosity about emerging technologies and eagerness to learn quickly.
• Good proficiency with Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data manipulation).

BONUS POINTS FOR

• Academic or project-based experience with generative AI, NLP, predictive modeling, or tools such as ChatGPT/Claude, Lovable, Hugging Face, LangChain, etc.
• Experience in university projects, hackathons, or teamwork across disciplines.
• Interest in digital technologies and digital transformation.
