The AI Governance Lead will serve as the day-to-day driver of an enterprise AI governance implementation programme , co-leading delivery with the client’s Privacy and Security leadership. This role is accountable for operationalising AI governance —translating defined principles and gap assessments into functioning policies, controls, workflows, and an embedded operating model.
This is a hands-on execution role , not an advisory or strategy position.
Key Responsibilities
- Co-lead the AI governance programme alongside the client’s Privacy & Data Protection leadership
- Own end-to‑end execution of AI governance across policies, standards, procedures, and controls
- Establish and operationalise AI intake, risk evaluation, approval, and monitoring workflows
- Translate regulatory expectations (AI risk, privacy, security, model risk, third‑party risk) into practical governance controls
- Define governance forums, roles, RACI, escalation paths, and decision authorities
- Ensure governance integration across CISO, Privacy, Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Business teams
- Drive programme cadence, milestones, reporting, and stakeholder communication
- Prepare the organisation for BAU transition at programme completion
Required Experience & Skills
- 12+ years in governance, risk management, privacy, security, or compliance roles
- Demonstrated experience implementing (not advising on) governance programmes
- Strong credibility working directly with CISO, CRO, Privacy Officer, and Legal leadership
- Deep understanding of regulated environments (Insurance or Financial Services strongly preferred)
- Working knowledge of AI risk, model governance, privacy, and cybersecurity controls
- Proven ability to build operating models, policies, and control frameworks that scale
- Excellent executive communication and stakeholder-management skills
Full-time: The pay range for this role is USD170,000 - USD180,000 per annum including any bonuses or variable pay. Contract: USD 95/HR – USD 105/HR.
