We are looking for an Air Intake System Product Design and Release Engineer to design, develop, validate, and release air intake system components for internal combustion engines and hybrid electrified vehicles. Components include various types of low-pressure side air ducts, air cleaners, make-up air hoses, and other related items such as resonators, air filters, and brackets; high-pressure charge air ducts are also part of this scope. Components will be developed using best practices and methodologies such as CAE, System Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), and Design Validation Plans and Reports (DVP&R).


The Main Job Responsibilities Will Be:

Candidate will be responsible for a set of air intake system components potentially at any/all stages of vehicle development. This includes:

  • Early integration into the vehicle, design and implementation of components to meet functional objectives of the intake system, engine, and vehicle.
  • Coordination of CAD design, CAE analysis, prototyping and physical testing, as well as documentation of these activities.
  • Depending on program, engineer may be required to support sourcing activities for supplier selection and/or coordinate and monitor supplier progress to ensure part maturity and milestone compliance, following best practices, DFMEA and DVP&R to minimize risks.
  • Use PLM tools and maintain detailed component scheduling.
  • Provide occasional onsite support at engine and/or vehicle assembly plants.
  • Other responsibilities: manage quality issues, validate process changes, and support technical cost reduction activities (value optimization) after vehicle launch.


Required Qualifications / Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • English level: B2
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to lead and manage Suppliers
  • Must be able to manage multiple concurrent activities
  • Some travels could be required to Supplier and Corporate vehicle assembly plants or proving grounds and technical centers


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of air intake systems and components
  • Ability to proactively communicate with others - including teammates, stakeholders and supervisor
  • Ability to effectively operate independently
  • General knowledge of CAD design
  • General knowledge of spreadsheets and building presentations
  • Ability to create and apply component and system DFMEAs and DVP&Rs
