Assistant Director of Student Ministries (Girls): First Presbyterian Church
Job Description: About the Role The Assistant Director of Student Ministries serves in a shared ministry leadership role focused on the intentional pursuit, shepherding, and
discipleship of middle and high school students. Rooted in gospel faithfulness, this role emphasizes relational engagement, prayerful presence, and
collaboration with staff, volunteers, parents, and church leadership — enabling the person in this role to know, love, value, and pursue students as
they grow to become faithful, fruitful followers of Jesus.
This is an entry-level, full-time, salaried position, serving under the leadership of the Senior Director of Student Ministries and the oversight of the
Student Ministry Council, and within the spiritual oversight of FPC’s pastoral leadership and Session. This role requires affirming the Essentials of the
Evangelical Presbyterian Church and the Westminster Confession of Faith.
Spiritual Commitments The good news of Jesus Christ is the heartbeat of Student Ministries at First Presbyterian Church. The Assistant Director is expected to live and lead
from a growing dependence on Christ through personal devotion, corporate worship, and active participation in the life of the church — pursuing a
consistent rhythm of Scripture, prayer, worship, and community, and modeling a gospel-shaped life marked by humility, repentance, joy, and love.
What You’ll Do
Shepherd students — Actively pursue relationships with students, both within and beyond scheduled gatherings; ensure no student is overlooked, disconnected, or forgotten; pray regularly for and with students.
Disciple toward maturity — Teach in biblically grounded, gospel-driven, developmentally appropriate ways; help students grow in understanding and applying Scripture; support and equip volunteer leaders.
Partner with parents — Communicate and foster relationships with parents as the primary disciple-makers of their students; equip parents in each phase of adolescence.
Cultivate gospel witness — Encourage students to engage unbelieving friends with humility and love; teach students to articulate the gospel clearly and winsomely.
Lead in service — Help students grow in Christlike love through opportunities for sacrificial service in the church and broader community.
Position Qualifications: A strong, growing walk with Christ and commitment to personal study of Scripture, prayer, and worship
Affirms the Essentials of the EPC and the Westminster Confession of Faith, and the mission, vision, and values of FPC
A demonstrated, heartfelt love for students and desire for them to grasp and live in light of the gospel
Experience ministering to students, and in at least one of: building/leading teams, equipping volunteers, or planning/organizational development
Relationship-oriented, with sound judgment, maturity, and relational skills necessary to communicate the gospel of Christ
Application Deadline 10/15/2026
Job Type: Full Time
Salary Range: TBD
