Offer Description The post is for a six-year period. The annual gross salary is about 50.000 Euros. The area of research and teaching is Sociology of Economic and Labour Processes:

Required research duties: The researcher will conduct research in the field of social inequalities and stratification processes, with particular focus on one or more of the following topics, or on topics closely related to them: comparative and international analysis of educational and career trajectories, educational attainment levels and their stratification; school-to-work transitions and employment outcomes, including over-education and occupational mismatch; relationships between social origin, education, and occupational outcomes (the OED model) and intra- and intergenerational social mobility; social and educational inequalities and the stratification of social risks from a longitudinal perspective. Advanced expertise in quantitative methods is also required, including large-scale survey analysis, longitudinal approaches, and experiments. Familiarity with computational social science tools and causal inference techniques will be taken into consideration. Research experience and the ability to collaborate in research networks -including at international level- are also required, as well as active participation in competitive calls for research funding;

Required teaching duties: The researcher will primarily be responsible for teaching courses focused on issues related to education, educational inequalities, educational and occupational trajectories, and processes of stratification, with particular attention to mechanisms of social mobility, school-to-work transitions, and employment outcomes. Teaching activities may also include courses on quantitative methods for the social sciences. Teaching duties will primarily take place in bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in the social sciences, with possible involvement in educational activities at the doctoral or master’s level or in similar initiatives.

Foreign language required: excellent level of English;

Knowledge of Italian: level adequate to carry out the assigned teaching load (the researcher is required to teach in Italian and in English);

Maximum number of publications to be presented: 12;

Hours of work: full time.
