Assistant Restaurant Manager - Splendido Mare, a Belmond Hotel Portofino

We are looking for an Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our DaV Mare Restaurant team.

The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality and comfortable with challenges. He/She is willing to provide authentic and luxury experiences, demonstrating care, confidence, curiosity and community.

Main duties & responsibilities

• Oversee and support the operations in the restaurant to ensure an enjoyable dining experience
• Manage opening and closing of the restaurant
• Respond to customer needs and questions
• Manage inventory operations
• Plan in conjunction with the Restaurant Managers all the activities and menu implementations
• Ensure that health and safety regulations are respected
• Lead and train the restaurant personnel to create a collaborative and efficient environment

Requirements

• Strong organizational skills; at least 2 years of experience in similar roles
• Proven track record of managing and motivating a team
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving abilities
• Proficiency in restaurant management software (POS systems, reservation platforms, etc.)
• Solid understanding of food and beverage operations, including inventory management and local health and safety regulations
• Fluent in English; knowledge of other languages (e.g., Italian, Spanish) is a plus
• Strong customer service orientation and problem‑solving abilities
• HACCP certificate
