Associate Account Executive, Digital Acquisition
Overview
This is a fast-paced, innovative Sales role at AWS. Digital Acquisition is the first face of AWS, engaging customers who raise their hand via Contact Sales forms or Live Chat. You will be a technically sharp sales professional who can operate with speed, credibility and commercial instinct, handling conversations across a range of workloads and customers with minimal handoffs.
You will work as a Customer Acquisition Representative (CAR) on the Digital Acquisition team, owning moments of peak customer interest. You may help a startup architect their first cloud environment, address a multi-million dollar enterprise question, or engage with a Fortune 500 executive in a live chat. You will qualify opportunities and determine when to bring in the right technical resources to accelerate a deal. The role combines technical depth with sales acumen to discuss architecture, workload sizing, cloud economics and competitive positioning as a trusted advisor.
You will partner with Cloud Sales Reps, Solutions Architects and Field Sales teams across US and Canadian territories to ensure effective handoffs and next steps. The best candidates bring experience, curiosity and confidence to lead conversations without reliance on coaching.

Key job responsibilities
- Respond to inbound customer inquiries via Contact Us forms and Live Chat with speed and precision, converting customer intent into qualified opportunities while interest is at its peak
- Lead discovery conversations that uncover technical requirements, business challenges and buying signals
- Hold credible conversations with customers across levels (technical admins to executives) on topics including cloud architecture, workload migration, AI/ML and cloud economics
- Qualify opportunities with rigor, assessing fit, timeline, budget and decision process before routing to the appropriate account or field sales team
- Partner with Solutions Architects, Cloud Sales Reps and Field Sales teams to ensure seamless handoffs and clear next steps
- Maintain accurate pipeline activity using data and self-service reporting to track performance and identify trends
- Continuously deepen product knowledge and technical acumen to stay ahead of customer questions and competitive conversations
- Bring a bias for action and creative thinking to every interaction to engage, qualify and accelerate opportunities

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Experience in IT sales
- Experience navigating prospective accounts from and into a senior executive level to identify new customer opportunities
- Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Qualifications
- Sales or equivalent certification
- Experience using Salesforce
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts
- Strong discovery and qualification skills with the ability to assess fit, urgency and buying intent quickly
- Experience navigating competitive situations and positioning a solution against alternatives
