LANXESS Italy is currently seeking strong, motivated, and talented individuals with the appropriate technical experience for the position of Automation Engineer.

About the role:

We are looking for an Automation Engineer to support the automation of our production lines using PLC or DCS systems. This role involves both hands-on configuration and coordination with external partners when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure and implement PLC or DCS systems for production automation.
• Identify field instrumentation needs and prepare purchasing specifications.
• Support local electrical teams with troubleshooting of electrical and control systems.
• Collaborate on P&ID drawings, ensuring correct placement of instrumentation.
• Manage budgets for small automation and instrumentation improvement projects.

Job Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering; a background in Automation Engineering is preferred.
• Proven experience in PCT (Process Control Technology), process control, and automation systems.
• Strong technical knowledge and understanding of relevant engineering regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Proficient in MS Office and SAP.
• Fluent in Italian and English (spoken and written).
