Overview
Control Systems Engineer in the automotive sector, focusing on vehicle dynamics and advanced control systems (ABS, stability control, active suspensions, electric power steering). Based in the Bologna area.
Responsibilities
- Develop and model algorithms for advanced vehicle dynamics control systems (ABS, stability control, active suspensions, electric steering).
- Design and implement software functions for ECUs in the chassis and ADAS domains.
- Define functional requirements and manage the full software development lifecycle.
- Develop Matlab/Simulink models for simulation and validation of control systems.
- Perform testing activities via MIL (Model-in-the-Loop) and SIL (Software-in-the-Loop).
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for the integration of software functions on vehicle platforms.
- Support analysis and troubleshooting of complex systems during validation.
- Optimize performance of braking and vehicle dynamic control systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Vehicle Engineering or related fields.
- 2–7 years of experience as Software Control Engineer in automotive, with focus on vehicle dynamics (chassis, suspensions, braking, steering).
- Strong knowledge of Matlab, Simulink, Dspace and Vector tools.
- Direct experience in developing algorithms for ABS, stability control, EPS or ADAS.
- Experience across the full software development lifecycle from requirements definition to validation.
- Practical knowledge of MIL/SIL testing and model-integration in simulation environments.
- Good command of Italian and English at least at B2 level.
- Driver’s license and ability to travel to an industrial area not served by public transport.
- Willingness to work in a team; analytical mindset and problem-solving orientation.
- Nice to have: knowledge of CAN/LIN communication protocols.
