Backend Engineer - Lara API Team (On-site)

As a Backend Engineer on the Lara API team, you design and ship API-powered microservices for an AI-driven translation platform. You will own features end-to-end, from design to production, and work with MySQL, Redis, and external AI translation services. You’ll collaborate across engineering and product to evolve a scalable AWS-based microservices architecture. Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend microservices powering the Lara API
• Own features end-to-end from design to production
• Work with MySQL and Redis
• Integrate with external translation and AI services
• Participate in code reviews and provide/receive feedback
• Write tests and maintain code quality
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams
• Write usable technical documentation

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of backend software development experience
• Proficiency in Node.js with TypeScript
• SQL knowledge with MySQL
• REST API design and server-side architecture
• Docker and containerized environments
• Git and GitHub-based workflows
• Owner mindset and proactive knowledge acquisition
• Excellent communication skills
