Offer Description
The research fellowship aims to develop numerical models and simulation tools for the analysis and energy optimization of integrated Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS) systems applied to Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plants. The research activities will include the modelling of waste heat recovery systems, thermo-fluid dynamic simulation of the integration between waste heat recovery and CO₂ capture processes, assessment of energy and environmental performance, and optimization of system operating conditions, with particular emphasis on reducing energy consumption and emissions. The research outcomes will contribute to the validation of predictive models and the development of strategies for technology scale-up, supporting the deployment of innovative solutions for the decarbonization of the energy and industrial sectors.
