We are looking for
an experienced
Business Unit Director – Retail
to lead and develop Retail Business Unit in Italy.
Role Purpose In this role, you will define and execute the BU strategy, drive profitable growth, and ensure operational excellence across multiple logistics sites. You will have full accountability for the P&L and play a key role in expanding our market presence while maintaining the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
Key Focus Areas:
Define and implement the Retail BU Lead end-to-end logistics operations (warehousing, distribution, value-added services) across multiple locations Ensure operational efficiency, scalability, and service excellence Manage capacity planning to address seasonal peaks and fluctuating volumes Own full P&L accountability Manage operating budgets Drive cost optimization and ROI-focused initiatives Monitor financial KPIs and ensure performance targets are achieved Lead change management initiatives Drive growth through expansion of existing contracts Support commercial activities, including solution design and business case development Strengthen and expand relationships with key customers and stakeholders Lead large-scale projects such as new site start-ups and automation initiatives Promote innovation, digitalization, and Lean/continuous improvement practices Lead a complex organization including Site Managers, Operations Managers, and Key Account Managers Build a high-performance, customer-centric culture Drive employee engagement, talent development, and succession planning
Required Experience & Skills
Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or similar) MBA or advanced degree is a plus At least 15+ years of professional experience, with at least 8–10 years in senior leadership roles Extensive background in supply chain or Manufacturing Company Proven experience managing multi-Site/Plant operations including people management Strong track record in P&L management and business development Experience leading large teams in complex customer environments Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities Expertise in operations management and continuous improvement (Lean/Six Sigma/WCM) Fluent in English Salary Package: € 110.000 - € 130.000 + Company Car
