Business Controller Italy

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a senior Business Controller, you will play a key role in monitoring financial performance and driving strategic decisions across our data center operations. You will partner with business leaders to ensure financial transparency, optimize cost structures, and monitor performance in a fast-paced, infrastructure-intensive environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for Data Center operations.
• Analyze financial performance and monitor progress against budget, providing necessary KPIs and suggesting corrective actions where needed.
• Collaborate with sales, operations, and procurement teams to track performance and improve processes.
• Participate in the monthly closing process and define cutoff accruals.
• Monitor and control capital expenditures across multiple sites, define accruals, and track progress in collaboration with the construction department.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly performance reports for management and external stakeholders. Implement dashboards to monitor costs by center of activity or asset, and identify deviations from budget.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements (SOX controls).
• Drive automation and improvement of financial processes, tools, and reporting systems.

PROFILE AND SKILLS

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related fields.
• Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in financial controlling, preferably in the data center, tech infrastructure field, or international group.
• Strong analytical skills, problem-solving oriented, and proficiency in financial modeling and tools (Excel, Power BI).
• Knowledge of Italian GAAP / IFRS. Experience with SOX controls is appreciated.
• Good interpersonal skills, team-oriented.
• Capacity to organize and manage priorities and deadlines.
• Professional proficiency in English and Italian.
