About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and scientifically driven Business Development Executive to lead commercial growth and strategic partnerships in Italy for our genetic testing portfolio. The ideal candidate will combine a strong scientific background with proven business development capabilities and an established network of Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), clinicians, laboratories, and healthcare stakeholders across Italy.
This role is critical in expanding our presence within rare and inherited disease, and precision medicine markets, while building long-term collaborations with hospitals, research institutions, and private healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and manage new business opportunities for genetic and genomic testing services across Italy.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with KOLs, clinicians, hospital groups, academic institutions, diagnostic laboratories, and healthcare decision-makers.
- Develop strategic partnerships to drive adoption of molecular diagnostics and precision medicine solutions.
- Collaborate with medical, scientific, and marketing teams to position products effectively within the Italian healthcare ecosystem.
- Lead commercial discussions, contract negotiations, and partnership agreements.
- Represent the company at scientific congresses, industry events, and networking meetings.
- Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, reimbursement pathways, and regulatory developments in Italy.
- Support market access initiatives and identify opportunities for regional expansion.
- Deliver sales forecasts, market intelligence, and business development reports to senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, or related scientific discipline.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships within genetic testing, molecular diagnostics, genomics, or life sciences.
- Strong network of KOLs and healthcare stakeholders in Italy, particularly in rare and inherited disease and oncology.
- Deep understanding of the Italian healthcare and diagnostics landscape.
- Proven track record of achieving commercial growth and developing strategic partnerships.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to engage credibly with both scientific and commercial audiences.
- Fluent in Italian and English.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD or advanced scientific training in genetics/genomics.
- Experience working with NGS-based testing, precision medicine, or companion diagnostics.
- Existing relationships with major Italian hospitals, private healthcare groups, and research institutions.
- Experience launching or scaling genetic testing services in European markets.
