Are you a driven commercial professional with a true hunter mentality? Our client, a fast‑growing mid‑sized international freight forwarder expanding rapidly across Europe, is looking for an outstanding Business Development Manager to accelerate growth in the Milan market.
About the Role
In this high‑impact position, you will focus on acquiring new customers with a particular emphasis on import air and ocean freight. You'll be responsible for identifying prospects, generating new business, and securing sustainable volume from Italian importers. If you're energised by winning, thrive in a competitive environment, and have a track record of building pipelines from scratch, this role offers the autonomy and momentum you're looking for.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively identify, target, and convert new import (air & ocean) customers
- Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline through consistent prospecting
- Deliver high‑impact commercial presentations and proposals
- Negotiate rates, contracts, and service agreements in line with company strategy
- Build long‑term client relationships and ensure ongoing customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with operations and product teams to deliver seamless service execution
- Track market dynamics and competitor activity to sharpen business development strategy
About You
- Proven track record as a new‑business hunter in freight forwarding
- Solid commercial experience in import Air and Ocean freight
- Strong negotiation, communication and relationship‑building skills
- Entrepreneurial, resilient, and self‑motivated
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team culture
- Fluent in Italian; English required for international coordination
