Overview
The Business Development Manager is responsible for creating, growing and managing an account base. Accountable to directly identify and initiate development efforts. Develop and execute a field sales business plan that will achieve the corporate revenue goals. This is a field-based role located either in central Italy (Rome area) or in the East of Italy (Trento, Verona, Venice). We are not considering applicants in other locations.
Responsibilities
- Develop new business across all of our core competencies
- Identify, initiate and engage with clients that provide sustained and profitable revenue streams for multiple services
- Develop and execute a business plan that will achieve sales quota and budget as defined by the company
- Support and consult existing customers as well as further develop professional cooperation
- Conduct sales and negotiation meetings
- Prepare offers and calculations
- Process customer correspondence
- Prepare and assemble accompanying documents (offers, concepts, presentations, etc.)
- Plan, organize and execute customer visits
- Record and ensure data maintenance in the CRM as well as for cross‑departmental topics in the CRM
- Implement regular review meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Completed further training as a forwarding specialist
- 5+ years of relevant business‑to‑business sales experience in Logistics, Freight Forwarding or Supply Chain Industry preferred
- Native level Italian and very good English language skills
