Overview

The Business Development Manager is responsible for creating, growing and managing an account base. Accountable to directly identify and initiate development efforts. Develop and execute a field sales business plan that will achieve the corporate revenue goals. This is a field-based role located either in central Italy (Rome area) or in the East of Italy (Trento, Verona, Venice). We are not considering applicants in other locations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new business across all of our core competencies
  • Identify, initiate and engage with clients that provide sustained and profitable revenue streams for multiple services
  • Develop and execute a business plan that will achieve sales quota and budget as defined by the company
  • Support and consult existing customers as well as further develop professional cooperation
  • Conduct sales and negotiation meetings
  • Prepare offers and calculations
  • Process customer correspondence
  • Prepare and assemble accompanying documents (offers, concepts, presentations, etc.)
  • Plan, organize and execute customer visits
  • Record and ensure data maintenance in the CRM as well as for cross‑departmental topics in the CRM
  • Implement regular review meetings

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Completed further training as a forwarding specialist
  • 5+ years of relevant business‑to‑business sales experience in Logistics, Freight Forwarding or Supply Chain Industry preferred
  • Native level Italian and very good English language skills
