Business Unit Manager – Analytical Instrumentation

Northern Italy (Veneto region)

Up to €200,000 package (c. €150k base + bonus)


We are partnering with a highly respected, privately held analytical instrumentation business undergoing an exciting new phase of growth following recent investment.


Operating globally with a strong reputation across life sciences and laboratory technologies, the company combines deep technical expertise with a highly customer-centric approach. With revenues of circa €30 million and a team of ~70 employees, the business is now looking to appoint a Business Unit Manager to lead one of its core divisions.


The Opportunity

This is a high-impact leadership role with full responsibility for driving revenue growth, operational performance, and team leadership across a multi-functional business unit.


You will take ownership of a dynamic and technically sophisticated team spanning:

  • Sales & commercial strategy
  • Applications / engineering
  • Service & operations


The mandate is clear: scale revenue, professionalise the structure, and build a high-performing, aligned organisation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute a commercial growth strategy across key markets
  • Lead and develop cross-functional teams, creating accountability and performance culture
  • Drive sales excellence, pipeline development, and customer engagement
  • Optimise operational processes across service, delivery, and support functions
  • Act as a key interface with senior leadership and investors
  • Identify new market opportunities, partnerships, and routes to expansion


Your Profile

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within analytical instrumentation, life sciences, or related technical sectors
  • Strong track record of driving revenue growth and leading commercial teams
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams (sales, engineering, operations)
  • Comfortable operating in a mid-sized, fast-evolving business environment
  • Strategic mindset with a hands-on, pragmatic approach
  • Fluent in English; Italian advantageous
