Buyer, Regional Commodity
Location: Breganze, IT
Workplace Type: Onsite
This role has the responsibility of tactical and operational purchasing processes, including assurance of transactional requirements. The Buyer, Regional Category serves as a contact window for suppliers based in region and is also responsible for daily operational tasks like supply issues, RFQ execution, and more.
Responsibilities
Support purchasing budget definitions.
Ensure regional and/or local compliance.
Inform the Manager, Category (CM) about market trends and developments.
Negotiate with regional suppliers in agreement with CM.
Manage RFQs, bid analysis and supplier recommendations in agreement with CM.
Execute supplier visits / audits with Supplier Quality Engineers.
Conduct cost analysis activities with the Cost Analysis Team.
Support commodity reporting and performance measurement.
Assist global tenders, regular audits and supplier evaluations; manage everyday communication with suppliers.
Carry out contract management, incl. contract data maintenance; manage Engineering Change Process in production phase.
Troubleshoot (support technical and time‑critical ad‑hoc requests / requirements).
Qualifications
At least 3 years’ experience in purchasing, knowledge in Plastic & Rubber processes appreciated.
Strong analytical skills with ability to execute operationally.
Leverage supplier process knowledge for contract negotiations and continuous improvement opportunities.
Understand risk factors (currency, shipping costs, single‑supplier dependency, supplier ownership) and incorporation of counter‑activities.
Ensure a comprehensive TCO that includes reliability, maintenance, operating, energy, transportation, and insurance costs across the region.
Use joint process improvement with suppliers, structure, joint sharing of benefits across all operation units.
Use interpersonal skills; ability to compromise, cooperate and integrate others.
Monitor the supply market to spot new opportunities (BCC, technologies/materials, multiple suppliers, etc.).
