RINA is currently recruiting for a CHEMICAL LABORATORY ENGINEER to join its office in La Spezia within the Mechanical and Materials Engineering Division.

Mission

RINA Consulting S.p.A. is seeking a Chemical Laboratory Engineer to play a pivotal role in the development of Space & Defense projects in La Spezia. As a valued team member, you will oversee and manage various projects in an innovative and dynamic work environment, contributing to advancements in ceramic materials and their applications.

This role involves pushing the boundaries of laser technology, developing advanced solutions impacting the industry and beyond.

Key Accountabilities

As a Chemical Laboratory Engineer at RINA Consulting S.p.A., your responsibilities include:

  • Conducting bibliographic research to identify promising ceramic compositions and synthesis methods.
  • Screening commercial powders for suitability.
  • Characterizing powders using techniques like DSC-TGA, XRD, SEM, FT-IR, and particle size analysis.
  • Implementing thermo-mechanical treatments to optimize powder distribution.
  • Engaging in process engineering and scale-up activities.
  • Developing techniques for dopant insertion into ceramic matrices.
  • Analyzing results to drive continuous improvement.

This position offers the opportunity to lead and contribute to innovative solutions for laser applications, impacting the field of ceramic materials.

Education

Master’s Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering

Qualifications

Candidates should have:

  • A Master's Degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or related field.
  • At least one year of experience in laboratories within R&T sector.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Good command of English.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of Matlab software.
  • Experience with DSC/TGA, XRD, SEM, FT-IR, particle size, and thermal conductivity techniques.
  • Understanding of ceramic materials.
