Engine Room Management: Oversee and manage the operation and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical systems aboard the vessel. Maintenance and Repairs: Ensure timely maintenance and repair of engine room machinery, including diesel engines, generators, and auxiliary equipment. Safety and Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols in the engine room, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and company policies. Team Supervision: Supervise and direct engine room personnel, providing training and support to ensure efficient operations. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of engine performance, fuel consumption, maintenance schedules, and repairs. Emergency Response: Lead the engine room team in emergency situations, coordinating with the master and deck crew to manage crises effectively. Certification: Valid Chief Engineer License (III/2) with unlimited tonnage. Italian endorsement. Experience: Significant experience as a Chief Engineer on similar vessels, preferably with experience in towing operations. Technical Skills: Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical issues, with a strong understanding of diesel engine systems. Leadership: Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively supervise and train engine room personnel. Knowledge: Familiarity with the operational and safety requirements of tug boat towing operations in the Arabian Sea and Gulf. Physical Fitness: Capability to perform duties under physically demanding maritime conditions.
