Our client, a leading international consumer-focused business, is seeking to appoint an experienced Competition Lawyer to join its growing legal team in Milan. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic, fast-paced B2C environment where competition law is central to commercial decision-making and strategic growth across European markets.


The Role:

Working closely with senior management and cross-functional stakeholders, you will advise on a broad range of Italian and EU competition law matters, supporting key commercial initiatives and strategic projects across the business. The role offers high visibility and the opportunity to contribute directly to business-critical decisions in a collaborative international environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on a wide range of EU and Italian competition law matters, including abuse of dominance, cartel investigations, and horizontal and vertical agreements
  • Provide competition law support on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, including merger control analysis, regulatory filings, and post-transaction integration
  • Develop and implement practical, business-oriented competition compliance programmes tailored to a consumer-facing organisation
  • Support the business on distribution strategies, pricing policies, e-commerce initiatives, and commercial partnerships
  • Partner with commercial, regulatory, and compliance teams to deliver pragmatic legal advice aligned with business objectives
  • Manage relationships with external counsel and engage with competition authorities where necessary
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments across EU competition law and assess their impact on the business


Candidate Profile:

  • Qualified lawyer with approximately 8–12 years’ PQE and strong competition law expertise gained in a leading law firm and/or in-house environment
  • Deep understanding of EU and Italian competition law, particularly in relation to abuse of dominance and commercial agreements
  • Proven track record designing and rolling out effective compliance frameworks and training programmes
  • Commercially minded with the ability to provide clear, concise, and actionable advice to senior stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with confidence operating in an international matrix organisation
  • Fluency in English and any other European language would be advantageous
