We are looking for a


Compliance Specialist - EMEA


In your role as Compliance Specialist in the EMEA region you support the development and implementation of our formal Corporate Compliance program. You assist the Compliance department in EMEA in implementing internal controls, performing continuous monitoring, testing and maintaining databases according to the monitoring activities. You support the 231 Italian model implementation and sustainability. You have a high degree of independence, are familiar with the Italian 231 model, are not worried by a high volume of activities and would like to work in a well-known, global Medical Device company? We are looking for a positive, passionate & open-minded collaborator to join our EMEA Legal & Compliance team.


The position will reside within our Terumo Neuro Entity in Milan, Italy.


What are your main responsibilities?


  • Assist in monitoring and testing programs on HCP engagement process, external funding, third-party management programs, and other processes identified as high-risk business interactions
  • Perform testing and monitoring (T&M) activities in accordance with internal program and timelines, interacting with Finance
  • Prepare reports and analytics relevant to T&M activities and prepare follow-up communications and corrective actions
  • Support Transparency Reporting program for the company: collect organization and cleanse data on the frequency requested by regulations, ensuring effective reporting
  • Develop guidance and checklist to support associate compliance with company’s requirements and boost a working environment where decisions are driven by integrity
  • Help develop and expand the Compliance risk-based monitoring program
  • Help support 231 model implementation and maintenance as applicable
  • Actively interact with various corporate functions, and instruct and update associates on compliance risk areas, policies, and procedures
  • Coordinate with other compliance professional teams across the organization to align monitoring and testing and leverage expertise and lessons learned


What will you bring in?


  • Compliance certificate or relevant experience
  • 3-5 years of compliance experience
  • Experience in Medical, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical business
  • Familiarity with third-party management, healthcare environment, Italian 231 model, and Transparency framework
  • Working knowledge of or familiarity with compliance statutes and laws, both domestic and international
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong team-building skills
  • Proactivity and self-motivation
  • Strong organizational/time management skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills including competency in presentation, word processing, and spreadsheet software, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
  • Good knowledge of Concur and SAP
  • Ability to review and synthesize data into meaningful reports
  • Efficient at handling and prioritizing multiple projects in a service-oriented environment
  • Italian and English language proficiency (business nomenclature)
  • Knowledge of laws (e.g., Anti-kickback, False Claims Act, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Sunshine Act, etc.), regulations, industry guidance, and best practices regarding compliant sales, marketing, and medical activities (preferred)
