Compound & Raw Materials Intern
Role description
Prometeon Tyre Group is looking for a Compound & Raw Materials Intern to join our Materials Team, reporting directly to the Compound & Raw Materials Manager. The selected candidate will actively support and collaborate with the team on various tasks and projects, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the field. The internship aims to train and develop a professional with strong potential for growth, offering excellent opportunities for advancement within the company .

Key responsibilities:
The candidate will support the R&D Material and Compounding team at the company’s headquarters (HQ) with the following activities:
- Scouting and characterization of raw materials : Researching and identifying new raw materials to test in compounds, aiming to enhance product performance. This includes laboratory testing and evaluation of raw materials.
- Chemical and physical characterization of compounds : Using basic knowledge of laboratory methodologies and technologies to oversee the testing process. The HQ team provides formulations in collaboration with the laboratory located in Turkey.
- Technical specifications and raw material approval : Drafting technical specifications and monitoring the approval process for new raw materials.
- Cross-functional collaboration : Interacting with various departments, including Procurement , HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) to comply with safety and environmental regulations, Product Team and with Quality Team to ensure raw materials meet quality standards and follow approval procedures.
- Supplier interface : Participating in technical meetings with suppliers to discuss material characteristics and performance.
Qualifications required:
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
- Educational background : a Master’s degree (or final-year student) in Chemistry or related fields such as Materials Science.
- Familiarity with key laboratory analytical techniques, including: TGA , DSC , IR Spectroscopy , Titrations, BET . Basic understanding of NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) is a plus.
- Solid knowledge of chemical reactions, synthesis and material characterization.
- Ability to read and interpret technical patents and literature related to innovative materials for tire applications.
- Strong proficiency in the MS Office package (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Italian .
- Innovative mindset, capable of adapting to a dynamic and challenging environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills , with the ability to handle complex technical data.
- Strong organizational and communication skills combined with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
