Construction Proposal & Estimating Engineer

Mission:

Construction Proposal & Estimating Engineer is assigned to the proposals to prepare deliverable of competence, in accordance with the quality requirements and in compliance with the schedule, under the lead of the Construction Estimating & Proposal Group Leader. He will ensure the performance of the construction estimating activities, in accordance with Construction Estimating Procedure and Proposals requirements(i.e. Subcontract execution plan, Construction Execution Plan, Main Contract Constraint, Instruction to bidder, etc.), cooperating with engineering, procurement, estimating and commercial departments to ensure the preparation of construction price estimation.

Main Activities & Responsibilities:

• Preparation of cost estimating relevant to subcontract costs, Site management and supervision activities, temporary facilities and field running costs, in compliance with Proposal requirements;
• Analyzes tender requirements and collect engineering bill of quantities;
• Performs, deliver and register the benchmarking of construction costs on time to Proposals;
• Performs preparation of standard and local construction man-hours estimate;
• Performs bid tabulation;
• Preparation of cost estimate relevant to the construction activities;
• Cooperate with construction department in definition of construction strategy and constructability methodologies that could have cost impact;
• Drive Construction Bid Review with potential bidders;
• Participate to meeting with bidders with Clients (if needed);
• Participate to the risk evaluation during the bid phase;
• Prepare final construction cost estimate.

Qualifications and Skills:

• University Degree or Diploma in relevant discipline or equivalent;
• 5-10 years of experience in Construction estimating / Estimating / Proposal management activities in Oil & gas / Energy Sectors;
• Strong math skills;
• Ability to handle multiple assignments;
• Proficiency in demonstrating proposals and projects;
• Knowledge in civil, mechanical and E&I estimating activities;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Experience in construction site activities is considered as plus;
• Fluent english writing/speaking skills (knowledge of additional languages like Spanish, French etc. will be considered as plus).
