Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Engineer to join the Paris Operations Engineering team, based in Milan, reporting to the Group Manager, Field Engineering .
Responsibilities
- Partner with clients to understand their businesses and assist in loss prevention and control.
- Identify hazards at client locations through on-site evaluations, considering physical and human element exposures for perils.
- Quantify exposures accurately to ensure appropriate attention from the Account Team regarding potential impacts.
- Ensure operational functionality of protective equipment to maximize loss mitigation and maintain protection systems.
- Gain client understanding and agreement on hazards/exposures and their business impacts.
- Implement practical risk improvements such as human element programs and physical modifications, and develop plans for high-capital improvements aligned with Account Engineering.
- Demonstrate FM's engineering capabilities and educate clients on loss prevention strategies, including proactive design considerations for medium complexity changes.
Qualifications
- Degree in Chemical Engineering with at least 5 years of experience in production, maintenance, or Process Safety Management in high-challenge industries (e.g., chemical, power generation, pulp & paper).
- Loss prevention Field Engineering background and B&M profile are preferred.
- Self-motivated, problem-solving, and solution-oriented mindset with a focus on risk improvement.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and strong analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Fluency in Italian and English, both written and oral; additional European languages are a plus.
- Willingness to travel mainly within the assigned geographical area and across the operational territory.
