We are seeking a legal-savvy professional with experience in managing contracts for construction and civil engineering projects to join DEAL as a Contracts and Legal Manager. In this role, you will oversee contract administration, legal compliance, risk mitigation, and dispute management on large-scale civil works projects, including activities involving DEAL, TENSA, and SPIC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full contract lifecycle for construction and civil works, including subcontract agreements, purchase orders, and service contracts.
- Provide legal guidance on contract terms to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Collaborate with project management, procurement, commercial, and engineering teams to identify and mitigate legal risks.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, deadlines, change orders, claims, warranties, and indemnities for the company and joint ventures.
- Maintain accurate contract records for audits and dispute resolution.
- Support dispute resolution and claims processes, working with external counsel as needed.
Qualifications:
- Law degree or relevant legal qualification preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in contract management and legal aspects within construction, civil works, or EPC projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction contract law, subcontract administration, risk management, and compliance.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Experience working in cross-functional, fast-paced project environments.
- Fluent in English; French language skills are a plus.
