Role Summary
Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) is an energetic, influential and inspiring executive who will drive Titan4’s profitable growth through successful customer value delivery, operational and technological excellence.
The COO ensures product development and R&D are fully aligned with a customer value-driven product and go-to-market strategy, ensuring a market-leading Earth Intelligence capability.
The COO leads business-enablement, is the owner of the company-wide AI-enabled process model and will set performance standards and ensure discipline and a culture of operational excellence across Titan4.
The COO will lead technology delivery partnering with customers to address challenges and implement effective value-generating solutions.
The COO, together with the CEO, will be a highly visible spokesperson for the company with potential and existing customers.
Key Responsibilities
- build and scale an industry-leading high-performing team and operational capability
- manage all projects to deliver customer value, quality criteria and optimization of Titan4 assets and developments with systematic customer expectations management, lessons learned and delivery process improvement
- foster and build customer loyalty through joint-success-based relationships
- be the executive-level customer advocate and champion ensuring constant visibility of customer priorities in key management decisions
- ensure Titan4’s R&D strategy and vision & technology foresight in Earth Intelligence, satellite EO, AI/ML, sensor fusion, geospatial analytics and digital twins deliver maximum industry-relevant and customer value-generating product enhancement
- ensure Titan4’s product development strategy and roadmap prioritise and delivers industry-relevant and repeatable customer value-generating product evolution
- manage rolling 2-3 year planning for operations capability evolution and growth
- foster an environment and a performance-oriented culture that will attract, engage, develop, and retain talent
- provide the vision and direction for and define, maintain and govern Titan4’s company-wide process model for key processes and related performance objectives
- define, implement and constantly evolve Titan4’s AI transformation strategy across operations, delivery, and the company-wide process model
- be a leader and role model for internal operational excellence across Titan4 and an ambassador of the same towards customers and the marketplace
- provide executive-level cross-functional leadership in particular:
1.define necessary structural cross-functional integration, governance and control mechanisms
2.through strategy board, ensure constant alignment between go-to-market strategy, marketing and sales, R&D, product development and project delivery
Ideal Profile
Experience
- a proven business operator with 10+ years in operational leadership, delivery excellence and business-enabling product development
- proven record of dynamic team leadership, motivational skills, and talent attraction, retention and development
- familiarity with the following: Earth observation / remote sensing, geospatial analytics and AI/ML
- experience managing:
-complex product/project portfolios
-customer value-generating strategies and customer loyalty
-applied research programs
-operational scaling in tech environments
-AI-driven operational transformation initiatives (strongly preferred).
Skills & Competencies
- Team leadership, standard setting, performance management
- Strong execution governance and operational management
- AI adoption across teams and processes
- Optimisation of scientific R&D and product development to enable customer value-generation
- Solid understanding of:
-satellite EO technologies
-geospatial analytics
-AI for business domain
-geospatial data platforms
- EU-funded or publicly funded R&D programs (preferred)
- intellectual property and patent processes (preferred)
Soft Skills
- Strategic, customer value-driven, business outcome-oriented, structured
- Strong stakeholder management (customers, research and business partners, investors)
- Ability to translate R&D into measurable customer value-generating solutions and business outcomes
- Strong leadership, people management, teamwork and business management capabilities
