For our own projects, we are looking for: Corrosion Engineer.


MISSION:


Responsible for the evaluation and continual improvement of corrosion protection strategies, including mitigation, monitoring, and inspection activities. Working in close collaboration with the Inspection Method Engineer and other stakeholders, the Corrosion Engineer ensures that the integrity of plant assets is preserved through effective corrosion control systems and monitoring campaigns, aligned with industry standards and company-specific RBI processes (FAME+).


TASKS:


  • Serve as the focal point for corrosion mitigation, monitoring, and associated inspection review activities.
  • Collaborate closely with the Inspection Method Engineer to review RBI findings in FAME+ and propose updates to inspection plans and mitigation actions.
  • Liaise with the Laboratory Manager to track chemical injection performance and analyze sampling results.
  • Organize and supervise corrosion-related field campaigns, including: Corrosion probe readings, Corrosion coupon retrieval, Cathodic protection assessments.
  • Monitor relevant operating parameters via PDMS (PI system) and define or update Integrity Operating Windows (IOW) to prevent corrosion damage.
  • Coordinate and oversee contractor activities during corrosion monitoring programs, ensuring execution meets technical and safety standards.
  • Analyze trends and anomalies, proposing actions to improve system reliability and corrosion control.
  • Identify and escalate recurring issues related to spare parts availability or system performance.
  • Ensure that corrosion control software, procedures, and documentation remain accurate and up to date.
  • Develop and deliver weekly and monthly reports focused on corrosion system performance, including chemical injection effectiveness.
  • Ensure that all corrosion-related activities comply with TotalEnergies standards, international best practices, and applicable legislation.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:


  • Laurea Magistrale/Specialistica or Laurea Triennale in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or Corrosion Engineering, or equivalent international qualifications (e.g., HND, HNC, DUT, BTS).
  • 8+ years in corrosion engineering, including a minimum of 3 years as a specialist in the petrochemical or upstream Oil & Gas industry.
  • Strong understanding of corrosion mechanisms and threats relevant to upstream O&G installations.
  • Familiar with Oil & Gas processes and equipment, and their corrosion risks.
  • Expertise in: API 580/581 (Risk-Based Inspection), API RP 571 (Damage Mechanisms Affecting Fixed Equipment), Corrosion mitigation (e.g., chemical injection, coatings), Corrosion monitoring (probes, coupons), Cathodic protection systems.
  • Competent in using: SAP (CMIMS), FAME+ (RBI tool).
  • Dedicated software for corrosion probe readings and analysis.
  • Fluent in Italian and English (spoken and written)
