Country Procurement Operations Lead
to oversee procurement operations in Italy and act as the key procurement representative across the local organisation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement leader who thrives in complex, multinational environments and is looking to influence strategic initiatives, lead high‑performing teams, and drive operational excellence at both country and global levels.
The Role Reporting into the wider Global Procurement organisation, you will lead the Italian Procurement Operations team and serve as the primary procurement representative for local stakeholders, suppliers, auditors, and business leadership.
You will play a pivotal role in driving procurement transformation, embedding best‑practice processes, and ensuring procurement operations fully support the organisation's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Leadership
Lead and develop the Country Procurement Operations team in Italy.
Act as the senior local representative for the Procurement function across internal and external stakeholder groups.
Build strong partnerships with manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and business leaders to deliver procurement objectives.
Represent procurement during interactions with suppliers, auditors, and other external parties.
Operational Excellence & Transformation
Drive the implementation of global procurement transformation programmes and operational excellence initiatives across the Italian business.
Lead change management activities to ensure successful adoption of new processes and ways of working.
Support the continuous improvement of procurement operations and governance frameworks.
Ensure procurement activities remain aligned with both local business requirements and global strategic priorities.
Performance & Compliance
Own procurement reporting and performance management processes, ensuring accurate and timely submission of key operational metrics.
Monitor procurement efficiency, effectiveness, and quality standards.
Lead collaboration with audit teams and ensure full compliance across the Source-to-Pay process.
Drive adherence to procurement policies, controls, and regulatory requirements.
Project & Stakeholder Management
Lead and support local procurement projects aligned to broader business objectives.
Ensure procurement initiatives are effectively integrated into operational processes.
Work cross‑functionally to identify opportunities for improvement, cost optimisation, and risk mitigation.
Influence stakeholders at all levels to support procurement‑led business outcomes.
About You We are looking for a commercially minded procurement professional with strong leadership capabilities and experience operating within complex, international organisations.
You will bring:
5+ years' experience in a procurement or supply chain leadership position.
Strong experience across direct and indirect procurement categories.
Exposure to multinational environments with complex stakeholder networks.
Sound understanding of Source-to-Pay processes, procurement governance, and compliance requirements.
Proven experience driving operational improvement and procurement transformation programmes.
Strong negotiation, supplier management, contract management, and risk management capabilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Strong analytical capabilities with experience interpreting operational and supply chain data to support decision‑making.
Demonstrated project management and people leadership experience.
