Position summary
As core assignment, the employee will be responsible for selecting the proper driveshaft(s) based on customer needs and requirements. He/she will also be responsible to size the power generation and distribution system in powertrains considering the specific drive cycle.
Main responsibilities
- Customer technical interface: he/she is the main (single) technical interface with the customer. He/she is the customer technical reference during the development of new projects, answer customer questions and leads the problem solving.
- Application analysis: starting from the customer requirements, the application knowledge and the customer needs, identifies, calculates and selects the best technical solution(s) to be offered to the customer. Manages the technical presentations to the customer and interacts with Sales and Product Management functions.
- Powertrain solutions: in case of powertrain systems (e.g. multiple and interconnected HW and SW elements), he/she is responsible to collect and manage the customer requirements, communicate the requirements to the Product and System Engineering and verify the requirements are met on the final machine.
- Continuous improvement: contributes to improve the calculation tools, the processes, the documentation, the vehicle and application knowledge.
- Customer visits: attends meeting at customer site and machine check-out. If needed, especially for high complexity/priority projects, he/she attends testing, commissioning, and development activities at the customer premises.

Job position requirements
Education:
University master degree: Mechatronics, Mechanical
Professional background
- 2+ years of experience as application engineer for mechanical components or diversified experience in design, development engineering, or applications engineering as related to the off-highway, drivetrain/powertrain, or related mechanical industry
- Coming from Walterscheid, ZF or OH OEMs (CNH, Landini, Deere,…)
Hard skills
Essential:
- Demonstrated Technical acumen
- At ease with sizing and calculation principles
- Capable of reading technical drawings and specifications of powertrain components
- Fluent in Technical English
Considered as a plus:
- Experince in the OH sector, Knowledge of Off-Highway market & the related applications, standards & regulations
- Experience with OH driveshaft, transmissions, axles and power distribution systems
- Experience as test engineer, field engineer
- Coming from Walterscheid, ZF or OH OEMs (CNH, Landini, Deere,…)
- Knowledge of Matlab
- Knowledge of CREO
- Experience in international team management
- Multi-lingual: Spanish, Italian, Dutch, French, and/or German
Soft skills
- Pro-active and dynamic mindset
- Strong communication skills, including customer presentations, project review meetings and status reports
- Able to work effectively in a cross-functional environment, having excellent interpersonal skills, team builder
- Strong organizational skills capable of handling multiple priorities under pressing deadlines
