Role Purpose

As a Cyber Security Analyst on the Cyber Security Operations team, your role involves monitoring, analysing, and addressing security incidents to safeguard data, systems, and digital services. You'll assist with incident investigations, refine operational workflows, maintain security technologies, and work closely with internal and external partners to promote safe technology use. Your skills play an essential part in protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the organisation’s resources. Additionally, your proactive approach drives ongoing enhancements to our overall cyber security strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor alerts across SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and network security tools to detect threats and anomalies.
• Perform triage and incident analysis to assess severity, impact, and response needs.
• Escalate complex or high‑impact incidents to senior analysts when required.
• Support incident response activities including containment, eradication, recovery, and documentation.
• Assist with evidence collection, log analysis, and root‑cause investigations.
• Prepare incident reports and contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement.
• Maintain and tune security technologies, partnering with IT, network, cloud, and external teams.
• Improve runbooks, workflows, procedures, and lifecycle management to strengthen operations.

• Strong analytical mind with structured problem‑solving capabilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication in English, with the ability to explain technical matters to non‑technical audiences.
• Detail‑oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple tasks in dynamic environments.

• Curious and proactive, motivated to stay updated on emerging threats and technologies.
• Resilient when dealing with complex or unexpected security issues.

Technical Skills and Experience

• Ability to administer, tune, and investigate security events across EDR and SIEM platforms.
• Experience managing anti‑spam and anti‑phishing protections and investigating suspicious emails.
• Skills in analysing and responding to cloud‑native security alerts and activity logs across AWS and GCP.
• Capability to develop and maintain automated playbooks that streamline incident workflows.
• Expertise in enriching indicators, leveraging threat intelligence feeds, and mapping threats to MITRE ATT&CK.
