Job Description

Within the Cyber Security Solutions Division, we are looking for a Pre‑Sales Engineer for one of our offices in Genoa–Fiumara or Rome–Laurentina. The resource will be included in a cross‑functional Pre‑Sales team for customers in the Defense, Space and European Institutions sectors, with the aim of strengthening technical‑commercial oversight and increasing the chances of success of offers.

The person will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Collect and analyse customer requirements and operational scenarios and transform them into structured, realistic and competitive technical proposals.
  • Be the technical‑functional reference for the customer throughout the pre‑sales life cycle.
  • Conduct technical presentations, demos, workshops, co‑design sessions and in‑depth activities with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Work closely with commercial functions, product management, delivery and architectures.
  • Prepare technical documentation, solution outlines, BOMs, high‑level architectures and contributions for complex commercial offers.
  • Manage the technical relationship with institutional clients and international stakeholders, adapting to formal procedures, compliance and specific sector security requirements.
  • Monitor market technological trends and maintain up‑to‑date skills in cloud, cybersecurity, AI and advanced digital solutions, in relation to the company’s product and service portfolio.

Requirements

Education

  • Master’s Degree in STEM disciplines, preferably in the IT field.
  • (nice to have) Any Masters, Certifications, and/or specific courses in Systems Engineering, Enterprise Architectures, Business Analysis are considered a plus.

Seniority

Overall seniority of at least 7 years in the following areas:

  • Work experience in the role of Pre‑Sales Engineer, Technical Account Manager or similar technical‑commercial roles, with exposure to international clients, in technological areas such as Information Systems, DevSecOps, Digital Workplace in highly structured international contexts (Defense, Space, European Institutions).
  • Systems Engineering, Enterprise Architectures or related fields.

Technical knowledge and skills

  • Ability to analyse and synthesize technical documentation (specifications, technical specifications, project and product documentation) in English.
  • Ability to build, navigate and update the customer’s “Business Architecture” (People, Organisations, Processes, Procedures, Technologies).
  • Ability to analyse complex requirements and set up projects in Systems Engineering, Enterprise Architectures, Cloud or similar areas.
  • Ability to define and present solutions.
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering principles derived from experience in the Space and/or NATO and/or European Defense fields.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices (e.g. ECSS, MIL, TOGAF, NATO Architecture Framework, ITIL).
  • (nice to have) Experience on projects and management of classified information.

Language skills

  • Knowledge of English is required, at least level B2/C1.
  • (nice to have) Knowledge of another European language will be considered a plus.

Computer skills

  • Excellent knowledge of the Office package and collaboration tools.
  • (nice to have) Knowledge of the main solutions/trends and products in one or more of the following areas: Cybersecurity, Cloud, Digital Workplace, DevSecOps.
  • (nice to have) SysML/UML tooling.
  • (nice to have) Planning tooling (i.e. Project).

Other

  • Availability to travel nationally and internationally (30‑50%).
  • Possess the requirements to obtain personal security clearance up to EU/ESA/NATO SECRET.
