Role

Within the Cyber & Security Solutions Division, we are looking for a Solutions Architect for one of our offices in Genoa – Fiumara or Rome – Laurentina . The resource will cover the role on complex projects (Cybersecurity, Cloud, Digital Transformation, Physical Security) in the Space, Defense, and NATO sectors. They will act as the primary technical reference for the client, coordinating multidisciplinary and geographically distributed technical teams (internal, industrial partners, and sub-contractors) throughout the entire Systems Engineering V-Cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical interface with the client for all engineering aspects of projects, including in-person meetings and co-location.
  • Lead and coordinate Systems Engineering activities through all phases of the V-Cycle:
    • Coordinate and review requirements gathering, analysis, and management (user, system, and subsystem requirements).
    • System architecture and System Design (logical & physical architecture).
    • Coordinate detailed design activities for software, hardware, and infrastructural subsystems.
    • Plan and manage IVVQ (Integration, Verification, Validation & Qualification) activities.
    • Support preparation of technical documentation (SRS, SSDD, ICD, DVVP, etc.).
    • Define and control technical baselines and ensure technical alignment among all stakeholders.
    • Manage technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, QR, Acceptance).
    • Support PM and Contract Manager in managing technical risks and critical project decisions.
    • Contribute to Pre-Sales and Bid activities (technical proposal, compliance matrix, solution outline, estimates, and technical planning).
    • Ensure compliance with domain standards (NATO, ECSS, MIL-STDs, STANAG).

Requirements

  • Education: Master’s Degree in STEM Disciplines, preferably in IT. Masters, Certifications, and/or specific courses in Systems Engineering (e.g., INCOSE) or other technical certifications in Cybersecurity, Cloud, and Service management are considered a plus.
  • Seniority: Senior.
  • Experience: At least 5 years as a Systems Engineer, Solutions Architect, Technical Authority, Technical Officer (or similar) on complex projects in NATO, ESA or similarly regulated contexts, in one or more areas related to Cybersecurity, Cloud, Digital Workplace, Information Systems.

Technical Knowledge and Skills

  • Domain Competencies:
    • Experience in managing system-level documentation and technical baselines.
    • Familiarity with industry standards such as ECSS, MIL, STANAG.
  • Role Competencies:
    • Requirements engineering & traceability.
    • System architecture & modeling.
    • System Integration & verification methodologies.
    • Technical risk management.
    • Configuration & change control.
    • Project review management according to NASA/ECSS/NATO standards (or similar).
    • Management of distributed multidisciplinary teams.
  • Technological Competencies in one or more areas:
    • Cybersecurity: Security Architectures, Solutions and Products (SIEM, SOAR, FW, Identity, VDI), Zero-Trust, standards (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS).
    • Cloud: cloud-native architectures (Azure, AWS), hybrid-cloud, virtualization.
    • Digital Workplace: collaboration systems, IAM, endpoint security.
    • Information Systems: distributed architectures, microservices, middleware.
  • Nice to have: project experience in Classified contexts.

Language Knowledge

  • English language required, at least B2/C1 level.
  • Nice to have: other European language (French or German).

IT Knowledge

  • Excellent knowledge of the Office suite and collaboration tools.
  • Excellent knowledge of architecture modeling tools (Archimate) and UML.
  • Excellent knowledge of requirements management tools (Polarion, DOORS).

Other

  • Availability for national and international travel (30-40%).
  • Must possess requirements to obtain personal security clearance up to EU/ESA/NATO SECRET.
