Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Manager to lead the execution of commissioning activities for a hyperscale data centre construction project in Milan. This role is essential in ensuring that all building systems—mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety—are fully tested, validated, and transitioned into live operational service to the highest standards of quality and performance. You will serve as the on-site lead for the full commissioning lifecycle, working closely with construction, engineering, QA/QC, and client operations teams. The role requires strong technical knowledge of MEP systems, a deep understanding of commissioning best practices, and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders across local and global teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all commissioning phases on site, including planning, execution, verification, and system turnover.
- Coordinate with construction, MEPF, QA/QC, and operations teams to execute a comprehensive commissioning plan.
- Oversee and validate testing procedures including FAT, SAT, and Level 1 through Level 5 commissioning activities.
- Review and manage commissioning documentation, including method statements, test scripts, checklists, and reports.
- Track commissioning progress and ensure alignment with the master project schedule.
- Conduct site inspections, system walkdowns, and operational readiness reviews to ensure performance and compliance.
- Resolve technical issues, manage punch lists, and support root cause investigations of non-conformances.
- Interface with contractors, OEMs, and third-party commissioning agents to ensure high-quality execution.
- Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and turnover to client operations teams.
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols, local regulations, and commissioning standards.
Required Qualifications
- • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Building Services, or a related technical discipline

- At least 6+ years of direct commissioning experience on large-scale infrastructure
- projects.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience commissioning mechanical, electrical, and lifesafety systems in mission-critical environments (e.g., data centres, hospitals, industrial plants).
- Strong technical understanding of MEP systems, controls, emergency systems, and integrated infrastructure testing.
- Fluent in both Italian and English, written and verbal.
- Experience developing and executing commissioning procedures and documentation to international standards.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical test reports.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading Level 4 and 5 commissioning activities on hyperscale or enterprise-level data centre projects.
- Familiarity with commissioning procedures from major cloud providers or similar enterprise clients.
- Strong working knowledge of commissioning platforms and tools (e.g., CXAlloy, Bluebeam, or equivalent).
- Certification in commissioning or project management, such as CCP, PMP, LEED AP, or equivalent.
- Understanding of NFPA, NEC, ASHRAE, ISO, and other relevant international standards.
- Proven track record of working with international stakeholders and cross-functional teams, project teams
