Overview

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and we’re looking for talented people who want to help. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to deliver high standards for safety and security while providing capacity at the lowest possible cost. Data Center Technicians are the primary resolver and troubleshoot a range of data center infrastructure issues including hardware, fiber, networking, and related problems. Be part of the Data Center Operations (DCO) team, overseeing operation and maintenance of the IT infrastructure and hardware for data centers in AWS Cloud regions. Become the primary resolver for your support team and gain troubleshooting skills on different hardware and software cases. Engage other appropriate solutions groups on more complex problems to drive solutions. Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and promote a world-class safety culture. Own safety initiatives and projects. Diagnose hardware and network problems followed by physical repairs. Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures. Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with regulations). Work rotating shifts (morning/late/night) as well as weekends to maintain the 24/7 data center environment. Local travel may be required up to 10% of the time. A valid EU driving license is required as data centers may not have public transportation nearby. Location: data centers are in remote areas outside Milan with limited access to public transport. Work Schedule: 100% onsite in-person position due to the hands-on nature of managing mission-critical infrastructure and data center operations. Qualifications

Basic qualifications: IT hardware troubleshooting experience; completed formal education/apprenticeship or training in IT; B1 level of English. Preferred: Diploma or equivalent in IT; basic knowledge of Linux and experience with network protocols and in data centers. Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
