Job Purpose
Design and manage scalable analytical data structures across core analytics platforms (Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, SAP BusinessObjects), ensuring consistent, high‑performance, and business‑ready data for reporting and analysis.
Key Accountabilities
Build and maintain Power BI semantic models (datasets) and design SAP BO universes (measures, dimensions, joins, and contexts) that are intuitive, governed, and enable effective self‑service reporting.
Implement business logic using DAX and SQL (measures, KPIs), ensuring consistent, reusable calculations across reports and certified semantic assets.
Manage dataset structure, metadata, and naming standards across Power BI datasets and SAP BO universes.
Organise and structure data within the Fabric Lakehouse, maintaining clean, analytics‑ready layers optimised for consumption in Power BI.
Perform data shaping and transformation using Power Query and Microsoft Fabric components, integrating multiple sources into a unified analytical layer.
Optimise dataset performance, refresh times, and query efficiency, monitoring and troubleshooting issues across the Fabric and Power BI layers.
Define optimal data access patterns (Import, DirectQuery, Direct Lake) and support composite models, balancing performance, scalability, and data freshness.
Establish and enforce naming conventions and data standards, ensuring consistency across the Lakehouse, Warehouse, Power BI models, and SAP BO universes.
Contribute to data lineage transparency and documentation, and to the evolution and rationalisation of analytical platforms and data models.
Collaborate with data engineers, BI developers, and analysts, translating business requirements into scalable analytical data solutions.
Qualifications
2-4 years of experience in data modelling, business intelligence, or analytical data environments, with proven hands‑on experience in Power BI semantic models and DAX in complex enterprise environments.
Experience working in cross‑functional environments, bridging data engineering and business analytics.
Fluent in English, both oral and written (for technical and non‑technical stakeholders); any additional European language is an advantage.
Core skills: advanced DAX; data transformation with Power Query; strong SQL and query optimisation; knowledge of Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse and Warehouse); SAP BusinessObjects universes a strong advantage; familiarity with Dataiku and Databricks a plus.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data, IT, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields.
Performance tuning and optimisation of analytical models and datasets.
Solid understanding of data architecture principles.
Ability to bridge technical and business requirements across data engineering and business analytics.
Exposure to data governance practices and standards.
VISA Requirements Right to work in Italy
