DRE is responsible for the design and development of a combustion engine system. They oversee the definition, design, development, and validation of each component to ensure performance, reliability, and cost targets are met. The role requires teamwork, collaboration across departments, and leadership in supplier interactions.

Responsibilities

  1. DRE is the design responsible for a specific system.
  2. Manage, supported by design engineers, 3D models and 2D drawings release in the company database within the scheduled timelines.
  3. Lead interactions with suppliers, including technical reviews and design development.
  4. Conduct design reviews with suppliers and internal departments.
  5. Coordinate with teams in Virtual Validation, Manufacturing, Testing, Labs, and Suppliers to optimize component development according to standards.
  6. Ensure packaging, performance, reliability, timing, and cost targets through appropriate solutions and processes.
  7. Oversee DFMEA and DVP&R in collaboration with technical teams and suppliers, ensuring adherence to design norms and requirements.
  8. Lead root cause analysis and solutions for field issues.

Basic Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience in engine design (minimum 3 years).
  • Knowledge of combustion engine functionalities, mechanics, lubrication, cooling, turbocharging, sealing, and fasteners.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Advanced component design and process knowledge.
  • Proficiency with CAD (UG), drawing standards (ASME, ISO), and tolerances.
  • Familiarity with design procedures and change management tools.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with key engine systems such as EGR, lubrication, turbocharging, cooling, and combustion systems.
  • Experience in engine or component testing.
