Job Description


Purpose

Manage a team of Manufacturing Professionals assigned to Third Party Manufacture (TPM) contracts for small molecule products. Ensure high-quality product manufacturing in compliance with local and international regulations, and that products are released and delivered according to forecasts, schedules, and planned costs.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead a team of AbbVie TPM Account Managers to:
  2. Negotiate Manufacturing Service Agreements and amendments, ensuring compliance and effective planning and procurement strategies.
  3. Ensure global logistics support all manufacturing phases in line with Purchasing and Quality expectations.
  4. Maintain timely communication with TPMs regarding forecasts, manufacturing, and delivery schedules.
  5. Develop and oversee Financial Operating Plans, Updates, LRP, and standard processes to meet financial goals.
  6. Monitor manufacturing performance using appropriate metrics and ensure work processes meet quality standards.
  7. Coordinate with internal functions to ensure TPMs have the necessary quality systems and documentation, manage inspections, audits, and deviations.
  8. Promote a culture of performance improvement and efficiency across TPMs.
  9. Coach managers, set clear expectations, and exemplify excellent performance and talent management practices.
  10. Conduct management reviews and communicate TPM performance, issues, and improvement initiatives.
  11. Represent Manufacturing in internal meetings, manage staff hiring, performance, and development.

Qualifications


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field; advanced degrees (Master’s or Doctorate) preferred.
  • 15+ years’ experience with technical expertise and project management skills.
  • Progressive leadership experience in Operations (Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering).
  • Strong business acumen and functional leadership to operate effectively in a complex environment.
