Director / Head of M&A Underwriting

A high growth transactional risk insurer is building out its Italian M&A underwriting capability and is looking to appoint a senior lead for the market. The business can offer genuine commercial autonomy, a mandate to build, and meaningful equity participation linked to the long‑term success of the wider Group.

Role Overview

As Head of M&A Underwriting for Italy, you will lead underwriting across Italian M&A transactions, with a primary focus on W&I. You will originate and manage broker, private equity, corporate, legal and advisory relationships across the Italian deal community, positioning the business as a credible and active participant in the market.

Responsibilities

• Lead underwriting across Italian M&A transactions focusing on W&I
• Originate and manage broker, private equity, corporate, legal and advisory relationships across the Italian deal community
• Own the Italian brand, build the book, shape the local strategy
• Grow headcount around you and own the Italian business

Qualifications

• Substantive W&I experience
• Strong market credibility in Italy
• Ability to operate with technical discipline and commercial intent
