Overview

The hotel Director of IT is responsible for ensuring compliance within the Information Technology and Audio Visual environments of the hotel(s). This includes adherence to Payment Card Industry (PCI) regulations, local data regulations, network security standards, end-of-life management, project management, budget planning, compliance with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group (MOHG) standards, and audit requirements. The Director of IT acts as the primary technical interface between hotel operations and the corporate IT team of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.

The role is generally separate from the hotel’s IT support team and requires availability on weekdays for escalation, colleague engagement, and critical IT tasks or follow-up.

Executive Summary

Budgeting, project oversight, risk management, task management, lifecycle management, cybersecurity & PCI compliance, partnership with hotel executives, MOHG IT liaison, strategic planning, and audit compliance.

General IT Management

• Managing business requests, strategy, and relationships
• Driving innovation and local solutions
• Participating in executive and operations meetings
• Engaging in corporate IT meetings
• Overseeing IT preventative maintenance programs

IT Support

• Managing routine IT tasks (e.g., 38 listed tasks)

IT Team Management

• Managing IT department resources
• Talent development
• IT team orientation and onboarding

Project Management

• Handling major projects

Cybersecurity and Compliance

• Cybersecurity management
• Internal and external audit and compliance oversight
• Cyber risk management
• Local regulation compliance
• Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and drills
• Security control enforcement for MOHG

Network Management

• Basic network configuration
• Wi-Fi setup and management
• Configuration review and optimization
