The Role and What You'll Do :

We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified Director of Onsite Technology Management with extensive experience managing technology for large-scale events. This role is crucial for the successful execution of the Official Hospitality Program for the 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Milano-Cortina, Italy. The Director will be responsible for directing, managing, supervising, and coordinating all activities within the Technology Functional Area, including hiring technical personnel to design, configure, and implement hardware and software systems, as well as procurement of computer hardware/software and operating systems. This position reports to the VP of Business and Technology Integration.

  1. Manage all event technology and IT infrastructure, including planning, implementation, and Games-time operations.
  2. Manage the City Clusters in Milan and Verona, hiring and managing the Lead Cluster Manager for the mountain regions.
  3. Act as the technical liaison between MC26's functional areas and internal teams such as Technology, Event Production, Security, and Workforce.
  4. Hire, cultivate, and manage Cluster and Venue Technology managers to serve as primary points of contact for internal and external clients throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring timely communication and coordination.
  5. Develop and manage a team of technology professionals to ensure effective and efficient technology activities across all venues.
  6. Collaborate with Functional Areas to gather technology needs and coordinate assessment, procurement, and management in line with corporate standards and policies.
  7. Work with procurement and technology teams to identify vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships.
  8. Manage the overall budget for technology-related expenses, ensuring expenditures stay within budget for the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games Hospitality Program.
  9. Ensure compliance with EU regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  10. Develop and implement disaster recovery plans for all technology systems to ensure business continuity during the Games.
  11. Identify and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance activities.
  12. Maintain relationships with technology vendors and service providers to ensure timely delivery of solutions and services.
  13. Coordinate with Finance and Accounting for vendor onboarding, invoicing, and payments.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in technology management, project management, and/or business operations, with strong knowledge of current and emerging technologies, preferably in ticketing, travel, or hospitality industries.
  • Experience in client-facing roles, building and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Proven success in managing technology infrastructure and delivering solutions for large-scale events.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex issues and develop innovative solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Leadership skills to motivate and inspire teams under pressure.
  • Experience recruiting and leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in major events like World Cups or Olympic Games is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license to operate in Italy.
  • Fluency in English; Italian language skills are preferred.

Additional Preferences :

  • Proficiency in Italian language is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in ticketing, travel, or hospitality industries is a plus.
