We are looking for a Direttore di Macchina/Chief Engineer .

Multinational company operating in the Oil & Gas industry.

Description

Responsibilities:

• Manage technically a fleet of vessels, ensuring safety and efficiency on board.
• Support vessels by developing and maintaining procedures and instructions.
• Conduct regular visits and internal technical audits.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance cost-effectively.
• Oversee repairs and dry dockings per maintenance plans.
• Prepare and monitor the technical budget.
• Coordinate with purchasing to source goods and services at the lowest cost and high quality standards.
• Handle damage claims and liaise with insurance companies for settlements.
• Ensure compliance with port state control and vetting inspections.
• Maintain vessel documentation and databases accurately.

You will work with a Crewing Officer and a Purchaser, reporting to the Regional Technical Manager.

Candidate Profile

• Higher Nautical or Technical Education diploma.
• At least 2-3 years of relevant experience as Chief Engineer/First Engineer or in ship repair/management.
• Strong planning and problem-solving skills.
• Willing to travel frequently and work under pressure.
• Knowledge of the Italian flag and administration system is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Italian, both verbal and written.
