We are seeking a high-calibre General Manager to lead a major production site within an established and rapidly expanding industrial group specialized in heavy metal fabrication and integrated manufacturing (metallic + electrical/electromechanical), focused on complex components and systems for the special transport industry.

Key responsibilities

• Full operational leadership of the main site (production, planning, testing & quality, maintenance and overall operations) with direct P&L responsibility for the plant
• Close coordination with complementary group entities for strategic planning, capacity alignment and shared objectives.
• Direct customer interface: managing key accounts, handling technical/commercial issues and maintaining strong client relationships under pressure.
• Leadership of a multidisciplinary team in Italy and internationally, with frequent travel and support to foreign operations.
• Active role in post-acquisition integration processes (ongoing buy & build strategy, including a recent major site acquisition plus foreign subsidiaries).
• “Roll up the sleeves” mentality especially at the start: getting deeply involved in operations to understand bottlenecks, solve problems hands‑on and build a solid, high‑performing structure.
• Previous experience as General Manager / Plant Manager / Operations Director in complex metalworking companies
• Strong preference for backgrounds in sectors characterized by small/medium batches, high product variability, complex BOMs and multiple sub-processes
• Proven ability to manage demanding customers directly and resolve critical situations.
• Fluent English is mandatory
• Willingness to travel frequently within Italy and abroad (including support to international sites under integration).
• Highly valued plus points : welding certification knowledge (especially IWE – International Welding Engineer), international track record, experience with integrated electrical cabling/harnesses in metallic structures.
